How Inspirational Quotes & Mantras Can Make You Happy
I’m so excited to share with you my thoughts about how inspirational quotes and mantras can make you happy.
We shall explore just what defines an inspirational quote versus a mantra. We shall also discuss affirmations as well and how they play a vital healthy role into our well being and our overall state of happiness.
This article will also lay the ground work in which you can create your own personal quote and/or mantra.
Each and every morning I recite this personal ‘mantra’ I created from this common phrase. But there’s a little bit more to it than just this…

My Personal Mantra
There is something to be said about having your own personal mantra. Later in this blog, we will discuss some ways to create one of your own. But this quote that I put together helps me get thru the tough times when my day doesn’t seem to go as planned.
“Today is the first day of the rest of my life. All I can do is the best I can do in any one given day and THAT is THAT!”
Believe me, I have this quote firmly ingrained into my brain. And after I recite it, it really does bring me back into a state of calmness. I’m then able to go on with my day continuing to do the best that I can!
Feel free to use this quote and see if it makes a difference for you.
Inspirational Quotes versus Mantras

Per the Merriam-Webster dictionary, inspiration is defined as “the act of influencing or suggesting…”, “the quality or state of being inspired.”
What exactly does inspirational really mean
To me, inspirational means not just inspiring, but motivating, provocative and impactful. Inspirational quotes can allow ourselves to live authentic lives and to give us focus on what we want positive in our life, such as future goals.
Inspirational quotes can also be healing. They can help us when we need them most. They can help with maintaining mental clarity and for our well-being.
Religious quotes from the Bible, Quaran or Torah, for example, nourish our faith. They remind us to be grateful and to extend kindness to all.
Mantras are for enriching your soul

Mantra is a Sanskrit word defined as a sacred utterance, a syllable, word or group of words. It is believed by many to have both psychological and spiritual powers.
Many people use their own personal mantras as a positive phrase or otherwise known as affirmations. As such, this could be a favorite quote, proverb or religious saying that truly motivates and inspires one to be their personal best.
There are also many motivational success mantras or affirmations that are often used to reach professional and athletic performance goals.
Creating Your Own Personal Inspirational Quote or Mantra
Let’s learn how to create your own personal Inspirational Quote or Mantra to make you happy.
- The first step is to determine what your own personal favorite quote or quotes you like. Pick something that truly resonnates with you.
- Make sure you know your own personal ‘why‘ behind what you choose.
- Don’t discount the power of including an image, artwork, or a photo. They make a big impact in the overall ‘feel or emotion’ of your words.
- Write your selected quotes down. Writing and actually reading them in your own handwriting creates a psychological ‘impression’ on our psyche.
- Display your completed Inspirational quote or mantra. You can go all out and hang your ‘artwork’ on your office wall. Or you simply may want to keep it private in a journal.
- Some people opt to do a ‘vision board’ which includes not only their favorite quotes, but of their dreams and goals in pictures.

I love this idea of creating a personal mantra I’ve been thinking about doing this for awhile. This ha actually encouraged me to put it into action
Jalan, thanks for your comment. Yes, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve recited mine to just chase the anxiety away when things become too stressful.
This is an interesting read! I love quotes especially the inspirational ones that can connect with you and motivate you into taking action.
Mama Bear, Thank you for your kind comments about How Inspirational Quotes & Mantras Can Make You Happy!
This is something out of the box information. Agreed, Mantras and Motivational quotes do help us but at the same time Mindfulness is the energy that helps us recognize the conditions of happiness that are already present in our lives. We don’t have to wait ten years to experience this happiness. It is present in every moment of our daily life.
Pinkey, thanks for your insightful comments. Have a blessed day!
Love inspirational, quotes! They have a great way of putting things in perspective, and at time give one pep in their step or a kick in the pants to keep moving in the right direction. The idea of actually writing them down is a great one. Must try that. Thanks so much!
Jane, writing definitely reiterates and ‘imprints’ on our brain! Thanks for your comments!
I have positive quotes and mantras stuck everyone in my home. They are so powerful!!! I talk a lot about being positive on my blog!! Excellent read. Thanks!!!
Laura, thank you so much for your kind words. Yes, they are so powerful, especially personal mantras!
I love this post. I am a big believer in having a positive attitude and living a positive life. Affirmations, lyrics, scripture, and quotes are sprinkled throughout my home. They help keep me looking at the bright side of things.
Wendy, thank you for your uplifting comments. My bathroom mirror if framed with yellow stickums full of quotes!????
Inspirational quotes can give you confidence, bring understanding to your feelings and much more,
Elaine, yes I agree. Inspirational quotes do give one confidence.
I too love inspirational quotes. Affirmations too. I have quotes, sayings and affirmations posted at select spots in my office and at home. Like on the bathroom mirror, clocks, and the door to leave. On the door to leave I have ” Go make the world a better place”. It reminds me that it is a choice I make to be a blessing in the world.
Kimberly, I love that quote on your door, “Go make the world a better place!”
I tried to surround myself with positive quotes all of the time. Everywhere I look. And motivational ones! They make such a difference every day. Sometimes I just look at them and remember what my dream is and where I’m going. Great post!
Sasha, yes they definitely make a difference, especially when the quote resonates personally with us!
I am all about inspirational quotes. I get on Pinterest to get some work done and I find myself scrolling through motivational quotes. They instantly give me encouragement. Thank you for sharing this!
Very well said. Thanks!
I absolutely agree with this idea. I try to always have three or four mantras in my head to pull out when I need a gentle reminder. I use “the days are long but the years are short.” I also use “this too shall pass” and “all you can do is your very best”. Thank you!
Colleen, thanks for your comment. ‘This Too Will Pass’ was my mother’s frequent saying.
Great tips for creating inspirational quotes/mantras. I love to listen to affirmations and mantras on YouTube, but I have heard that writing them down is better. Maybe one day I’ll get around to doing this.
Joyce, thanks for commenting.
Hey Beth! Love the idea of creating your own personal mantra! I’ve never thought of doing that. I’ll work on creating one.
Steve, please share when completed! Have a great day!
I never considered that what I keep in the back of my mind is my mantra but I guess it is. I usually start my day with “get sh*t done”. And it pops up throughout the day as a little push when I need it. My favorite quote is “speak for the trees” (Dr. Seuss), I find my self repeating that a lot during my day.
Kaylee, thanks for your comments. You definitely have a ‘provocative’ mantra! Lol
Omg I love this so much! I don’t have a personal mantra and I find that really cool. I am definitely going to work on creating one for myself.
I hope you share your new mantra when completed.
Hi Beth, I completely agree with you that inspirational quotes are in fact healing! I’ve loved them ever since I was a kid and till this day, I keep a book of inspirational and motivational quotes in my office. I also love mantras and they definitely have a positive effect on my mind, body and soul :).
Awesome post,
