Speaking Into Existence – The Reality
Some people think they can speak things into existence by the literal words they audibly speak out loud and the things they repeat to themselves in their minds.
“Name it and claim it,” is a popular phrase in today’s world. In addition, other phrases. like – “your confession is your possession,” “speak it into the atmosphere,” or “declare that it is yours today” are passionately recited with the belief, that if you speak it, it will come into existence…
Can people really create reality by verbal utterance or even through sincere belief?
Made You Smile Back presents this thought-provoking question. Can we as human beings have the ability to manifest and speak into existence what our passion, our desires, and wants are? Or are we fooling ourselves that we have the power to do so?
Are we confused as to what speaking into existence really means? These are the topics we shall explore. We’ll look at some of the myths and realities about how it works, and what the results can be when it does work.
By the end of this article, you will be well equipped to make your own decision and go on your own personal journey of creating the life you want.
What Does It Mean to Speak Into Existence?
What does it exactly mean to speak into existence and to manifest our dreams?
I’m going to try to explain what “speaking into existence” really means, and I’ll show you how it can be applied to your life.
A lot of people think that they are speaking something into existence when they pray, meditate, or affirm a particular outcome.
This is partially true. While praying, for example, you are “speaking” a prayer to God. If you are “speaking” into existence, it’s because you are trying to “manifest” that prayer. But here’s the deal… manifesting is taking what has already been created by God and achieving that reality by our belief system. This is not the same…
So again, what does it mean to speak Into existence?
To understand what it means to you, you shall first need to realize that the law of cause and effect still applies to life. That is if you truly believe in something, and then you do something in line with that belief, then you’ll see results.
Your belief determines your reality, and your reality sets up conditions for your success. You create those conditions either by the things you do or the things you say. This is where the idea of “speaking into existence” comes from. If you are speaking negatively, you are causing negativity. The same is true if you are speaking positively. Positive speaking creates positive results.
I think at the end of the day, we’re speaking of semantics. There appears to be two main points of view. The religious point of view and the ‘Law of Attraction’ manifestation point of view. Let’s learn more about the two…
The Religious Point of View
The religious point of view about speaking into existence is pretty much ‘black and white’.
One of the most common beliefs about speaking into existence is that it is based on the idea of God. The religious point of view holds that God is the ultimate creator and that he created the universe.
When people think about the word God, they usually think about a person or being with absolute power and authority. God is the one who creates, controls, and directs everything that is happening in the universe.
God is thought of as the one who is the source of everything.
According to this point of view, speaking into existence is a form of praying or worshiping God. The belief is that God is the only one who can ‘speak into existence’, but as his followers, we do have the ability of praying and asking God for help or assistance in our life to bring into existence love, happiness, health and prosperity.
Going further, according to Christianity.com:
“The Bible tells us we cannot speak things into existence. The only One who can speak things into existence is God Himself. God spoke the entire universe into existence (Genesis 1:1-31). He spoke the light, the water, the sky, and everything else into existence. God literally only says, “Let there be…” or “Let the…” and it came to be true (Genesis 1:1-24).
God is able to do this because He is God. He is the great “I AM” (Exodus 3:13-14) and the Master Creator (Revelation 4:11). God has blessed us with the ability to create things, but we cannot speak things into existence. Mankind is unique among God’s other creations because we are made in His Image (Genesis 1:26).”
So, in summary, from the religious point of view, at least for the Abrahamic Religions (Jewish, Christianity & Islam), the short answer is: No. Speaking things into existence is an ability that only God possesses. God is all-powerful. The Genesis account of creation describes God speaking certain things in the world into existence. “God said …. And it was so” is a repeated pattern in Genesis 1.
Furthermore, according to compellingtruth.org, “people recite the biblical passage, Mark 11:24 to support speaking things into existence. It says, “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” It is true that there is power in prayer, but that power is God, not our words.
But is there a connection? While I’m in agreement 100% that God is the ONLY ONE who can ‘speak into existence’, I do believe that we have the ability to manifest our desires and goals with a positive mindset and be proactive in the everyday choices we make.
This begs the question… what’s the difference between ‘speaking into existence’ and ‘manifestation?’ Let’s first examine another point of view… One that many people in today’s modern world believe… the Law of Attraction.
Law of Attraction Point of View
If you believe in the Law of Attraction, you believe that our thoughts create our reality.
You can think of the Law of Attraction as the law of cause and effect. The Law of Attraction states that like attracts like. If you are thinking positive thoughts, you are creating a positive reality for yourself.
Likewise, if you are thinking negative thoughts, you are creating a negative reality for yourself.
When you think about your goals and desires, you are creating a reality that will support you in your goal of speaking into existence.
Let’s look at this from another angle.
If you are thinking about your goals, you are thinking about your desires.
In a nutshell, the Law of Attraction states that you can attract to yourself whatever you want in your life. If you believe you can attract something to yourself, you can.
For example, if you want to be successful in your career, you can start to think about that and make a list of what you would like to see in your life. You can write down your goals and desires. You can think about the things that you want in your life and you can start to make your thoughts about what you want.
The Law of Attraction says that your thoughts create your reality. If you are thinking about something and you believe you can attract it to yourself, you can.
You can think about your career and you can think about how you want to be successful in your career. You can think about the things you want in your life and you can think about the things that you want to attract into your life.
The Law of Attraction says that you can create your reality and you can attract things into your life.
But wait… hear me out… yes, I see that this ‘Law of Attraction’ believes in the ability to attract things into your life.
But here’s the thing… in order to ‘attract things’ into our lives, don’t they already exist or are in existence beforehand? We’re just attracting what ‘already exists’ into our own personal realities?
Whereas, the Abrahamic Religions tell us that only GOD can speak things into existence as he is the Creator of all things and the Universe. That said, mankind is told to pray daily and that we are responsible for our own life.
Difference Between Manifestation & Speaking Into Existence
So, the question remains… what is the difference between speaking into existence and manifestation?
Speaking into existence is the power of God. It is a supernatural ability to speak things into existence.
Manifestation is a natural law of cause and effect. It is a natural law of attraction.
The difference between speaking into existence and manifestation is that one is a supernatural power and one is a natural law.
We can use our minds to create our reality, we can use our words to speak into existence or reality, but that is all it is… words. It is not a supernatural power. It is a natural law of cause and effect.
If you want to attract something into your life, you can use the Law of Attraction.
If you want to achieve things in your life that are already in existence but YOU want them to be a part of your life, you can pray to God and ‘ask him to bless you with this desire.’
The law of attraction is based on the belief that positive or negative thoughts have the power to create your reality.
When you’re truly intentional about what you want and practice manifestation, those dreams can come true. The key is believing—without a doubt—that it will. This is known as the power of manifestation of the mind.
Manifestation of the mind is a powerful act. Of course, manifestation may vary for everyone as there’s no right way to do it. It may also take a series of trial and error to find what manifestation method works for you.
The Power of the Spoken Word. The Energy and Vibrations of our Words
It’s no secret that words hold energy. When we say something, it gets imprinted in our brains as a thought. We often call this a “thought-form.” Thoughts are like a picture of what we are saying. They are vibrational imprints that carry energy and influence.
We can change the energy and vibrational quality of our thoughts through language. When we do this, we are creating a new thought-form. We can do this to ourselves and to others.
When we create a new thought-form, we can create an actual reality. We can call into existence whatever we want.
To do this, we can use affirmations, visualization, or meditation. When we focus on our desires and visualize them coming true, it changes the energy and vibrations of our thoughts.
There’s no question about the power of the spoken word. There is energy and vibrations associated with our words.
It is very important to understand the language that we use because it can change our life. If we are speaking words that are negative and unhappy, they will naturally be reflected in our actions.
We can choose to speak positively about our life and about the people around us. We can choose to speak with positivity, which also in turn will affect our lives and the people in them.
Many times we are taught to avoid using certain words as if they are bad or will harm us. For example, if we say the word “love” in a negative way, then we are told that this could lead to heartbreak.
In other cases, we learn that certain words are thought to attract love, such as “love”, “believe”, and “happiness”. We are also told that certain words are thought to repel love, such as “hate” and “despair”.
But the truth is, no words are bad or good. The only thing that really matters is how we use the words. And how do we use words? Well, we speak them out loud.
As stated earlier, some words have powerful and positive energy attached to them, while others can have negative energy associated with them. To discover what words have a positive vibration attached to them, listen to the way people speak these words in their own lives.
People with a high degree of positivity will speak the words with happiness, joy, love, and peace, as well as confidence.
It is like they have a magnet on their tongue. People who attract positivity into their lives will tend to have more success in any area of their life.

The Last Word…
The bottom line is this. Your mind is like a mirror. When you feed it with positivity, it reflects only positive images. If you repeatedly think negative thoughts, it begins to reflect more and more negative pictures and scenes in your life.
For me, ‘speaking into existence’ in the literal sense is only able thru God. That said, when you speak the right words at the right time, things start to happen.
In other words, if you have the passion, a positive mindset, and are proactive in taking the necessary actions, yes, of course, you can achieve and manifest the successful happy, joyful life you desire!
