Follow this 30+ day glow up challenge glow up list of tips/tasks to reset your life and help you on your self-improvement journey. You should feel rejuvenated and ready to take on whatever life throws at you by the end of the 30 days.

  • Create your own ‘vision board’ with your glow up goals. You may make a digital vision board or keep it simple with print-outs and magazine cuttings. The aim is to have a source of inspiration for whenever you lack motivation throughout this challenge. 
  • Sleep 8 hours nightly 😴 I’m sure you’re aware of the phrase “beauty sleep.” It’s a genuine happening. Sleep has been proved to make you seem younger, prettier, healthier and of course, happier.
  • Pray or meditate for 10 minutes upon waking 🙏🏼 No one can deny there is amazing spiritual benefits in spending some time ‘praying’ to our Creator or by meditating. The calming, peaceful effect it has is good for our overall well-being and sense of purpose.
  • Intentionally ‘smile’ holding it for 2 full minutes. This is a scientific proven method of immediately increasing the ‘endorphins’ or ‘feel-good chemicals’ in our brain. So whenever you need an ‘instant cheering up’, keep in mind this sure-fire technique.
  • Get 20 minutes of sun daily ☀️ Now of course, you must use sun-screen as well. But 20 minutes of sun daily provides you with a healthy dose of Vitamin D!
  • Reduce sugar intake (ideally NO sugar if possible!) 🚫 Why? Because it’s beneficial for your long-term health; it’s great for your skin; it reduces cavities and helps avoid obesity.
  • Read for 30 minutes a day and something NOT online (newspaper articles, books, even magazines…) 📚 Knowledge is power and you should never stop trying to learn more things and staying educated.
  • Reduce overall screen time by at least 30 minutes per day. 👩🏽‍💻 You glow better when you surround yourself with positivity. Make a point of eliminating harmful influences on social media and freeing up that extra 30 minutes per day for other self-care tasks.
  • Exercise 3x week for 30-60 minutes (even something simple like a brisk walk.)🏃🏻‍♀️ Get moving and get active. Exercise not only great for getting a healthier physique but it wards off simple depression and anxiety.
  • Book a body massage. Massage may be used to help you relax and unwind. It stimulates blood circulation and helps to work out muscular kinks and knots. It also is known to help ease tension headaches.
  • Start a Gratitude Journal and write 3 things you’re grateful for daily.

  • Eliminate alcohol and/or cigarettes or vaping. Need I say more?
  • Go have your nails professionally manicured.  And while you’re at it, why not get a pedicure at the same time.  You deserve to feel pampered and your prettiest!
  • Look up NAMI (National Alliance of Mental Illness) in your area and volunteer.  Volunteering is not only destressing but it gives you a sense of purpose and meaning into your life.

  • Develop a set morning routine.  Starting your day on the right foot is critical for having a pleasant rest of your day. This begins the second you awake in the morning.
  • Develop a set evening routine.  A night routine, like a morning one, is critical. You may utilize your nighttime energy to be productive at night and use it as an opportunity to get prepared for the next day.
  • Declutter… whether it be your closet, work-space or even your mind.  Decluttering is an important self-care ‘glow up’ routine. Living in a cluttered space can affect your mental health. You’ll become more productive and you’ll feel at peace in your personal space.
  • Brainstorm for new dreams, goals & projects.  Dedicate a day or more to brainstorm your potential passions.  Quickly write down projects, activities, causes, creative outlets that you have been wanting to do or take on.
  • Call a friend you haven’t spoken to for over a year. Friends make your life richer, and special friends will always be there for you whenever you need to reach out in case of feeling depressed or anxious.
  • Eat portions of fruit and vegetables daily. 🥬 A diet rich in vegetables and fruits can lower blood pressure, reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke, and prevent some types of cancer. And… they taste great!
  • Wash your face daily before bed. (don’t sleep in your makeup!)🧖🏼‍♀️ Need I say more?!!?
  • Exfoliate and try a new skin moisturizer. A good skincare regimen goes a long way toward making you look and feel your best. Make use of the day to scrupulously cleanse, exfoliate and moisturize your skin to make it glow!
  • Go 1 day per week without makeup (if you wear makeup a lot!) 💆🏼‍♀️ Why not just cleanse your face and just wear lipgloss. Try it. I’m sure you will find it ‘freeing.’
  • Go 1 day per week without coffee (if you’re a coffee person!) – switch to hot green tea. 🍵 Caffeine, like other stimulants, can be highly addicting. Caffeine has several negative physical and mental effects on your body that manifest both physically and mentally. Take a break and enjoy decaffanieted green tea if you are experiencing headaches, nausea, restlessness, anxiety, or other unpleasant side effects.
  • Do a face mask of your choice to refresh & renew your skin. Applying a mask is a brief 20-minute escape that engages all of your senses and gives you an immediate radiance or ‘glow up’ when you do.
  • Drink 7 glasses of ‘ICE’ water with 1 at night. Did you know that not only drinking water hydrates your body and makes your skin glow, it also has a special affect. Yes, if you drink a 10+ oz of ‘ice cold water’ before you take rest, you’re always lubricating and hydrating your vocal cords. This in turn will keep your ‘voice’ youthful and vibrant as you age.
  • Do one random ‘act of kindness‘ to a total stranger. When you make someone feel special and happy, it in turn makes ‘yourself’ feel special and happy as well!
  • It’s your ‘free day’. You can do whatever you want… stay at home and just lounge and do nothing. Do whatever your heart desires!
  • Create YOUR OWN personal task YOU want to do! Or rather, do something you’ve always wanted to do but haven’t! Surprise yourself!
