Let’s have some fun fun fun this year!
I just love holidays! Why? Because there’s shopping involved of course! I know, I know. There’s alot more to the holiday seasons than just gift shopping and I do genuinely honor and respect the true meaning behind each holiday. But for this article, I wanted to discuss how truly ‘fun it is’ to make the effort this year to enjoy the entire experience.

Did you know that there is a secret to having some of the best holiday shopping experiences ever? Have you ever been totally stressed out not knowing what to buy for children or teens or even your spouse for that matter?!?
I’ll give you an example… If your gift list includes children, especially siblings, make it a point to just bring one child or grandchild at a time with you! Why? Because they will KNOW what their brother(s) and/or sister(s) want! You don’t have to guess anymore! And not only that, both you and your child will have so much FUN in selecting the perfect gift!
Oh what a treat it is in seeing the joy and smiles on their faces upon opening their own specially selected gifts! And the serendipity bonus to all of this is the fact that YOU helped in building a stronger family connection with both you, your children (or grandchildren) that will last a lifetime.

Visiting Santa!
Now while shopping at the mall do you sometimes give in to thinking, “how nice it would be’ to have your child visit Santa!?! Before you make that decision, let me remind you that not only will you end up ‘waiting in line with a toddler’, do you really want to endure what could unexpectedly happen as well?
What if your son or daughter gets the ‘urge’ to have to go to the restroom! Or they simply beg you that they don’t want to SEE SANTA! Are you doing it for them… or for you?
How about a better alternative? Why not save all this fuss and trouble by planning a very special ‘Santa Visit’? Yes, you could have your spouse dress up as Mr. and/or Mrs. Santa, couldn’t you? Don’t believe me? Look at the joy and love on the faces of the children sitting on their ‘Santa Grandpa’s Lap’ on the picture above? You decide.

Holiday Shopping fun selecting white elephant gifts!

Who doesn’t enjoy the fun of selecting a ‘white elephant gift‘? This is one of my favorite fun things to shop for. You know, gag gifts are usually funny or one that brings a ‘smile’ or two. But it’s okay to bring something nice that people actually want.
And just exactly where do you shop to find these delightful items? Oh sure, you can go to the ‘Spencer Gift’ store (is it still in business by the way…lol) but why not think of other options. Like perhaps ‘re-gift’ a gift you got from the last season! Resale shops are another option.
Now what to buy!
- Coffee mugs with funny sayings. My husband received a ‘go fishing’ mug which was just hideous! (I think it made itself around a ‘few’ holiday seasons, just saying…)
- Socks, socks and more Holiday socks! You can’t go wrong with this one!
- Bag of Gummie Bears! Or any type of holiday treats.
- What about a Bonsai tree. (Actually its known to be a stress-reducer).
- Anything and everything at the famous Dollar Tree!

Let’s not forget all the fun fun fun we can have after all this exciting holiday shopping! There are so many things you can do with your family and friends. Traditionally, my sister has all her nieces and nephews bring their own unique Christmas ornament to decorate the tree with!
Did anyone notice all the ‘tinsel’ on the Christmas tree photo I selected? Brings back memories doesn’t it! Back in the 60s and 70s, it was considered, ‘the more, the better’! And if you happen to have a ‘Type A’ personality like my father had, you must go in a chronological, methodical order of decorating! Or else! Remember, the lights go on first, then the ornaments, followed by the ‘tinsel’ last but not least, the Christmas Star!
Who wants Christmas Cookies and a Mug of Hot Chocolate!
There’s no better fun than doing holiday baking. And kids love to join in! Sugar cookies are the ‘go to’ baked good for any household. And once all the mess has been cleaned up, then there’s nothing better than cozying up with a mug of hot chocolate with your ‘thickly iced’ Christmas cookie! And you gotta have a Candy Cane to dunk with!

While it is a fact that Christmas is probably celebrated more than any other holiday around the globe, let’s not forget that other cultures have their own holiday season they too celebrate! And whether you celebrate Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, Christmas or Eid, it’s always fun to go Holiday Shopping!
